TrailBlazers & SISU Endurance Team Combine to Provide Unique Opportunity for Area Youth
Iron County 4-H Summer programming will be combining two of our successful bike programs from the past few years. This summer the TrailBlazer program and the SISU Endurance Team mountain bike program will combine to offer a great opportunity to learn trail riding and explore trail systems in northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. SET TrailBlazer participants will still meet at the Iron County Courthouse on Tuesdays 8:00-4:00pm and Thursdays 8:00-6:00pm throughout June and head out on their rides from there. The rides will focus on trail-riding, but will also include road riding and other adventures! Tuesdays participants will ride on trails in or near Iron County (Powderhorn, Whitecap, Winman). On Thursdays we will be traveling to a trail systems in Duluth, Ashland, and Houghton so the riders can experience trail systems within driving distance of our county, thanks to support from the Gogebic Range United Way. The participants will complete a short survey that will ask them to rate the features of the trails that they liked and that information will be shared with the local bike leaders who are working to develop mountain bike trails in our area. If your child doesn’t have a bike, the SISU Endurance Team has brand new bikes we can loan.
This program is open to youth grades 6-8. Space is limited to only 15 riders and the cost is $20 (which covers the 6 sessions). CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. If you have any issues opening the link, please let us know asap. If you have any questions, feel free to contact:
