SISU Endurance Team XC Ski Club Registration NOW OPEN!

Registration for the 4th annual SISU Endurance Team Cross Country Ski Club is now open!

This program is available to Iron and Gogebic County youth grades K-12. The goal is to encourage kids to participate in a fun winter sport that they will be able to enjoy for a lifetime. All ability levels are welcome. The club will meet at  ABR Ski Trails on Sundays, January 3 – February 28 from 2:00-3:30 pm. We ask that members arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure they are ready to ski at the start time.

The program costs $40 per child, with a $10 discount for each additional child (for families with more than one child). Registration includes a SET ski club hat and 4-H neck gaiter.

Thanks to grant funds received from the Gogebic Range United Way, the Iron County 4-H program was able to add more ski equipment to our program inventory this year! We have around 30 sets of ski equipment available for youth participants to check out for whole winter (all equipment must be checked back in at the Extension Iron County office by March 31, 2021). This is a great opportunity for area youth who may be interested in xc skiing but don’t have equipment to use. It also allows them to explore other great trail systems in our area with their families, such as MECCA, Uller and Montreal Historical Ski Trails. Skis can be checked out anytime between now and the first week of the program start date. If your child needs skis, contact the Extension Iron County office to set up a checkout time. Rentals are also available at ABR.

If your child is an intermediate skier and has equipment, they are welcomed to join some of our SET coaches for a second day of skiing during Wolverine Wednesdays! This will take place at Wolverine Ski Trails, January 6th – February 24th from 4-5 pm. Any youth grades 2 and under, parents must accompany (Wednesdays only).

Registration for this program must be done on 4HOnline, which recently had a system update. Please follow the enrollment instruction link below to enroll. Past members can re-enroll by following the instructions on pages 2, 7. New members must follow the instructions starting on pages 3, 5, and 7. If you have any problems with enrollment, please contact Extension Iron County office manager, Rebecca Holm at 715-561-2695 or

Feel free to follow the SISU Endurance Team Facebook page for all things SET!
