Extension Iron County Welcomes 2021 Summer Staff

Due to the popularity of Extension Iron County’s summer youth programs, 4-H Youth Development Educator, Neil Klemme is able to enlist the help of two summer assistants each year. With their help, Klemme is able to extend outreach efforts to involve area youth in programs such as, Iron County Summer Youth Camp, TrailBlazers, Outpost Camp and STEM Camp. Summer assistants also lend a hand at the Iron County Fair. We couldn’t offer these opportunities to youth in our community without their help.

Meet our 2021 summer assistants, Jackie Bradley and Riley Kangas below!

Jackie Bradley

Hello, I’m Jackie Bradley. I have been a part of UW-Extension programming for about 5 summers and have been in 4-H for about 5 years as well. I’m the President of my 4-H club, the Iron County Green Team. I’m going to be a freshman at UW-Eau Claire this upcoming school year. I will be pursuing my Bachelors in Chemistry and hope to become a science teacher after college.

It has been amazing to see how much the 4-H programs have grown since I first got involved in them in middle school. I’ve been an attendee of Iron County Summer Youth Camp, Outpost Camp, and a volunteer staff member for Iron County Summer Youth Camp since the 8th grade. It has been an absolute blast so it’s what I am looking forward to the most for this summer. I’m glad to be a part of this program as well as work close to people who want the same thing for this area as I do; to see it grow and thrive as a welcoming and supportive community.

Riley Kangas

Hi! My name is Riley Kangas and I am an upcoming junior at University of Wisconsin- Green Bay. My major that I am studying is Business with an emphasis in Human Resources. I love photography, ATVing, and camping with my family in the summer. In the winter, I love to ski and snowshoe!

I am super excited to work in the 4-H office as a summer assistant because 4-H has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. Throughout middle and high school, I have made so many memories and friends through this program. I want to be a part of creating this experience for new 4-H members and returning kids who want to have a great summer!
