Extension Iron County Welcomes 2022 Summer Staff

Due to the popularity of Extension Iron County’s summer youth programs, 4-H Youth Development Educator, Neil Klemme is able to enlist the help of two summer assistants each year. With their help, Klemme is able to extend outreach efforts to involve area youth in programs such as, Iron County Summer Youth Camp, TrailBlazers, Outpost Camp and STEM Camp. Summer assistants also lend a hand at the Iron County Fair. We couldn’t offer these opportunities to youth in our community without their help.

To learn more about Extension Iron County’s 2022 summer assistants, Jackie Bradley (who is returning for her second year) and Emaleah Niemi, continue below!

Jackie Bradley

Hello, I’m Jackie Bradley. I grew up and graduated in Hurley, WI. I have been a part of UW-Extension programming for 6 summers now and have been in 4-H for about 6 years as well. I am now in collegiate 4-H as well.  I’m an upcoming sophomore at UW-Eau Claire this upcoming school year. I’m pursuing my Bachelors in Chemistry and a minor in Physics with hopes of being a science teacher after college.

It has been incredible to see how much the 4-H programs have grown since I first got involved in middle school. I’ve been an attendee and volunteer for many of these programs and it has been an amazing experience, so it’s always what I look forward to every summer. I’m glad to be a part of this program as well as work close to people who share the goal of a healthy and thriving community for our youth.

Emaleah Niemi

Hi, my name is Emaleah Niemi! I am going to be a junior at the University of Madison-Wisconsin this upcoming fall semester. I plan to major in Psychology with a minor in Botany in hopes of one day becoming a Psychology professor! I love reading, singing, and taking care of my houseplants. More than anything though, I love adventuring outside whether it be swimming and kayaking in the summer or snowshoeing and skiing in the winter.

As a child and teenager, I attended summer camp myself and it was always an amazing experience, so I am incredibly grateful and excited to work in the 4-H office as an assistant this summer! Getting to work with kids, teaching them and learning from them, all while being outdoors is going to be a blast. I am ecstatic to be a part of this program and cannot wait to see what this summer brings!
