Celebrating Another Successful 4-H Year!
2023-2024 Iron County 4-H members and leaders were recognized for their achievements at the annual Iron County 4-H achievement banquet, which took place at the Kimball Community Center on Sunday, October 27, 2024. The celebration started with an awards ceremony where members and leaders were presented certificates and project pins, followed by a dinner catered by Ratkowski’s Catering & Bakery.
Iron County 4-H Youth Development Educator, Neil Klemme discussed the success of the 4-H program and thanked the volunteers for all they do in mentoring and guiding youth members who participate in the program. Iron County 4-H youth members from each club assisted Klemme in presenting the certificates and awards.
It was also a great time for 4-H members who participated in statewide and national 4-H trips to share what they had learned and enjoyed. Iron County 4-H Green Team members, Serena Tauer, shared some details about her experience at National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, GA, while Braeden Klemme spoke on his experience attending Summer Academy at the UW Madison Campus. Roarke and Bruce Tijan also shared highlights from their trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL. They also thanked the Iron County 4-H Leaders Association for their support in making it possible for them to attend these trips, by covering all or a portion of their registration fees.
In addition to that, club members spoke about their club happenings throughout the past year. Braeden Klemme (Iron County 4-H Green Team), Nick Walesewicz and Brodie Erickson (Penokee Range Livestock Club) and Luke Juoni (Adventurers of the North 4-H Club) shared a brief summary on behalf of their clubs.
