Babysitter Training Registration is OPEN!

The Babysitter Training is a 2021 summer program designed to introduce youth, ages 11+, into the world of babysitting. They will learn how to properly take care of children of all different ages. They will also learn how to address and handle situations in a proper way. Iron County Summer Youth Camp Pre-Registration is OPEN!

We are excited to announce that Iron County Summer Youth Camp 2021 is a go! However, due to current COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines set by the CDC, American Camping Association and Wisconsin 4-H, WE ONLY HAVE SPACE FOR 45 CAMPERS (50% CAPACITY), currently enrolled in grades 3-5. BE SURE TO GET YOUR PRE-REGISTRATION IN EARLY!

SISU Endurance Team Running Club Registration is Open!

The SISU Endurance Team (SET) Running Club is starting it’s third season on Monday, June 7 from 6:00-7:00 pm at Miner’s Memorial Park. The SET Running Club is open to youth grades 5-12. Cost is $10 per person and includes a t-shirt. Pre-registration required!

Local Support Makes Camp Programs Possible

We couldn’t offer our summer camp experiences for our area youth without community support. The donations we have received this year are very much appreciated and will be used to enhance the camp experience for our youth. As we work our way through the pandemic and get a better understanding of what our summer programs will look like, it is always great to see the continued support of our youth.

The Wisconsin Master Gardener Program will be celebrating Master Gardener Volunteer Week April 5-9, 2021!
Master Gardener Volunteers are an important part of University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension Iron County.  Volunteers make a positive difference in our communities.  Through hours of community service by answering diagnostic questions, educating the public on horticultural topics, growing and donating food to local pantries, beautifying community spaces, conducting workshops, and more, these volunteers work tirelessly to make our communities an incredible place to live.

Join UW-Madison Extension Iron County’s Darrin Kimbler and Mercer Library on Wednesday, March 4 at 10 am for a Planning a Seed Saving Garden virtual Zoom class. Are you interested in saving your vegetable seeds from year to year for your garden? Maybe you want to create your own heirloom vegetables to pass down to your family?
