The Wisconsin Master Gardener Program will be celebrating Master Gardener Volunteer Week April 5-9, 2021!
Master Gardener Volunteers are an important part of University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension Iron County.  Volunteers make a positive difference in our communities.  Through hours of community service by answering diagnostic questions, educating the public on horticultural topics, growing and donating food to local pantries, beautifying community spaces, conducting workshops, and more, these volunteers work tirelessly to make our communities an incredible place to live.

Growing Tomatoes in Cool Climates

A fresh off the vine homegrown ripe tomato is the pinnacle of many folks’ gardening season but getting tomatoes to ripen in our northern climate can be tricky some years. Join Darrin Kimbler, Extension Iron County’s Agriculture Educator and the Mercer Library on Wednesday, March 24 at 10:00 am for a Growing Tomatoes in Cool Climates virtual Zoom class. Darrin will be discussing strategies on how to get the best homegrown tomatoes. Pre-registration is required!
